Fully Alive, it’s like the entirety of my message got bundled up into two punchy little words. Fully. Alive. Such powerful words, singularly and then together…and an even better life choice. So what is it and what will makes you actually be a Fully Alive person?

Just hold tight while I overload you with metaphors.
So many of us are just living a half-life. It’s like we’re on auto-pilot. We’re calling it in. We’re not really paying attention, just being carried along in the current. We’re coasting. (Did you get them all? I count 5! Metaphor speech is now over. Thank you for rolling with me.)
While this is all well and good and anyone can get through life like this, where the hell is the fun?! There isn’t any spark; there isn’t any deep engagement. What a waste!
Fully Alive is that place of enthusiasm for everything and anything. It is filled with excitement and anticipation, just like when you were a little kid, reaching and grabbing for every curiosity around you. It is the belief that everything is possible.
Fundamentally, Fully Alive is a place of risk. ![]()
Spring in particular (why hello beautiful daffodils!) always reminds me of Fully Alive. It’s like the world has been in that dull coasting stage and is suddenly bursting out of it. The world itself is becoming Fully Alive again.
Fully Alive Spectrum
Now there is a distinction to make here. Fully Alive is way more than just being aware of the concept. I like to think of it in terms of a spectrum. On one deep, dark end is asleep. These are the people who don’t even know they’re missing out on something bigger. Pretty much their only interests and concerns are material and in all honesty, when I come across these people, I make an extra effort to skirt around them!
In the middle of the spectrum would be the people who are awake. These people are conscious of there being something more to strive for, but they’re stuck being inactive because they don’t quite know how to get in motion.
And on the far opposite end (in the same bright and shiny territory as sparkles and magic) is Fully Alive. Fully Alive people are the ones who are finding ways to incorporate risk (not the crazy mid-life crisis kind of risk!) into their lives daily.
Fully Alive people allow their true selves to be seen so much that they shine! ![]()

Most of the people that I work with on a daily basis (in seminars and coaching) are stuck at that awake stage. Most often, they don’t even realize that that is the stage they’re at because they don’t realize what Fully Alive would feel like. Well let me tell you what Fully Alive would feel like:
- Heart-pounding realness
- Electric & exciting
- The (adrenaline) rush from speaking your truth
- Breathtaking alertness
- Divinity, devotion and deep connection all at once
- Profound gratitude
- Bursting with joy
- Absolute fulfillment
Being Fully Alive
And what is the step to get you there? What I have been saying all along…
Risk.
Again, no, not the mid-life crisis ‘go and buy a Ferrari to drive really fast’ kind of crazy risk. But the daily risk of showing your true self. The Daily Risk of revealing your true self, embarking on a new challenge, taking a stand for something that really matters to you, admitting a hard truth, stepping up to lead, asking for forgiveness, working towards your Signýficant Contribution, or asking that person you admire beyond anyone to mentor you. The kind of risk that is fulfilling, satisfying and electrifying all at once.
Does that sound like the person you want to be?
Check back over the next few weeks as I show more of the steps in moving towards that Fully Alive life.
Okay over to you:
What does Fully Alive mean to you? How to you know when you’re awake vs. Fully Alive? What are you actually doing differently in each of those stages? I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment below.
P.S. I’m currently working on designing a new E-Program all about making the most of the precious little time that you have. It’s set to launch in May. Sign-up here if you’d like more information!
XOXO

Being fully alive is feeling the amazing flutters in your heart, smiling from the inside out, empowering others to follow their dreams and lead from their heart.
Doing the things that give you energy everyday, and following what you are passionate makes me feel alive.
Diving into the ocean makes me feel alive or any water for that fact:) The smell of the Hawaiian air, and mountain air.
Following my dreams makes me feel alive:)
Sarah – you and Hawaii – I can still remember seeing the ALIVENESS in your eyes as to talked about it.
This is a great list, very inspiring.
And I am with you – following my dreams, and seeing others follow theirs – HUGE.
For me also helping people to access their full selves and express that completely. Fills my heart and soul!
Thanks for commenting.
