There’s a piece where we all think how we should live our legacy is on the big stage, like Marthin Luther King, Jr. and Ghandi. But the reality is, it’s actually how you’re living day to day, the decisions you’re making every day, that lead up to who you’re being in the world, which then rolls up to your legacy.
So if you were about eliminating cruelty to animals as your legacy/passion, then it isn’t enough that you are simply good to animals and a champion for people being good to animals. It’s actually about compassion and bringing more harmony to the world than is currently there.
We can say that we want to end suffering, but then if we’re mean to our friends, we’re not actually living the work of being a love angel, we’re still carrying around some of the resentment or the anger. So the first piece of work is to do the work on yourself.
I see so many people that want to be in a loving, profound relationship with their soulmate, and they want to be deeply loved and they want to love them deeply, but they aren’t living from a place of love right now. They aren’t currently loving themselves and loving others, so they aren’t demonstrating that they want to love a mate.
Here’s another example: abundance – we say want abundance. We usually refer it to financially, but let’s face it, we all want abundance in all areas. Friends, love, fun, as well as prosperity, but many of us are acting in ways that demonstrate scarcity and holding on, and tightness. Again, it isn’t just about money. We may not be generous with our compliments. We may not be generous with our time. We may not be generous with our positive regard. In withholding ourselves, we create around us an energy of withholding in general, and no generosity can grow in that soil.
Remember: your legacy is built on how you’re living day to day, and who you’re being in the world.
Ok, over to you:
What’s the legacy you are living to? And how can you live it today and every day, one step at a time?
Brilliant!
