Passion is one of those words we hear a lot this time of year. It gets wrapped up with all of those Valentine-y things like: a dozen roses, a box of chocolates, date nights, sexual desire, romance and love. As in romantic love. Now don’t get me wrong, a huge part of romantic love is passion, but what I’m saying is that passion is something bigger, something not simply reserved for couples or Valentine’s Day. Passion is for all of us, always.
Passion is that inexplicable fire that drives us. It is the thing that gets us to put all of our energy into a task. It is what guides us in our decision-making. It is what pushes us to our purpose. It is both a key ingredient and a key outcome of fully alive.
Passion is the juice that has us be fully alive and it should be something that is invited into our lives daily!
However, for some of us, passion isn’t easy to come by. Many other people find that too many passions and the excessive list of associated tasks bog them down. (This is often my negative thought pattern that can side swipe me when it comes to passion). While still others find that due to a fear of shame they’ve hidden the thing that they’re most passionate about. Heck, you might even find that you experience all of these saboteur lies!
Don’t buy into the lies! We’ll work past them together!
Passionate living has three major facets:
- Being in the right relationship with yourself and honouring who you are now.
- Finding your passions and deciding which are best for you to pursue now.
- Taking the tough step of revealing and really, truly celebrating your passions now.
Yes, that’s a lot of now. But hey, what’s the point of it all if you wait for tomorrow?!
All of February I’m inviting you to explore the idea of passion with me. Following the Signýficant Living framework of Be, Choose, Live , we’ll learn how to begin to invite passion into our lives, all day, every day. Among other things, Signýficant Living leads to choosing a life of passion.
If everyday passion is a focus for you there’s bound to be magic!
Okay over to you:
